QuickCam ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable European data protection laws.

We collect and process the following personal data:

  • Account data: Email address, name, and encrypted password when you register
  • Stream configuration: RTSP URLs (stored encrypted), stream settings, and domain allowlists
  • Video content: HLS segments generated from your RTSP streams, stored in European data centers
  • Billing data: Payment information processed by Paddle (our payment processor); we store only subscription identifiers
  • Usage data: Server logs, stream activity timestamps, and service usage metrics

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6:

  • Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the streaming service you subscribed to
  • Legitimate interest: Service security, fraud prevention, and service improvement
  • Legal obligation: Compliance with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on servers located within the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). We use encryption for sensitive data (passwords via bcrypt, RTSP URLs via application-level encryption) and HTTPS for all data in transit.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle: Our payment processor, for billing purposes (EU-based processor)
  • Hetzner: Our infrastructure provider, for hosting (EU-based)

We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Stream segments are retained based on your plan settings. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We use only essential session cookies required for the Service to function (authentication). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. The latest version is always available on this page.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data protection rights have been violated.
